A small business that builds websites for small businesses
Solid Starr Solutions is a one person web design business in Walthamstow, east London. It takes five clients at a time, charges everybody the same published price, and registers the website, the domain and the Google listing in the client's name rather than its own.
Why it works this way
Most of this industry quotes on request, charges by the hour for changes, and keeps the domain in the agency's name. Each of those is a small thing on its own. Together they mean a business owner cannot compare two quotes, will not ask for a change they need, and cannot leave without losing something.
So the model here is the opposite of all three. One price, published: £240 to set up and £179 a month, the same for everyone. Changes included, with no hourly rate, because a site nobody updates stops being true within a year. Everything in the client's name from day one, which makes the monthly fee a service rather than rent.
The five client cap is part of it rather than a marketing line. Unlimited changes only work if there is time to make them.
Who runs it
Solid Starr Solutions is run by Shayne Archer. The company was incorporated in June 2025 and spent its first year in property maintenance before moving to web work in 2026, which is the reason the writing on this site keeps returning to trades: those were the customers.
That background is also why the research on this site exists. Knowing what a plumber actually does with an enquiry, and why a builder never gets round to the website, came from the work rather than from a marketing course.
The honest version: this is one person, not an agency with a team behind a stock photo. That is a genuine limit on the size of job it can take, and a genuine advantage on everything else, because the person who builds the site is the person who answers the message.
Why a web design business publishes research
Most claims made to small businesses about websites are asserted rather than measured. So the numbers get checked and published instead, including the ones that are inconvenient.
The first study looked at 10,862 London businesses and found that broken websites outnumber missing ones two to one. The second found that businesses with working websites have 64% more Google reviews, then spent most of its length explaining why that does not prove a website causes reviews, and concluded that most owners should get reviews before they get a website.
Every figure is free to quote with a link, and every method is on the page.

What it does not do
Worth stating plainly, because the list is short and it saves everyone a call:
- Online shops. Payments, stock and tax turn a website into software, and that is a different job requiring different support.
- Paid advertising. Not offered, and not managed on anyone's behalf.
- SEO as a separate product. The structured data, the Google listing and the local pages are part of the build, not a monthly retainer sold alongside it.
- Large projects. One person, five clients. A job needing a team should go to a team, and I will say so.
Want to talk about it?
A quick call, nothing to prepare. If a website is not the right spend for you right now, I will tell you that instead.
