Terms & Conditions
Everything about working with me, in plain English. No legal maze, no surprises. If anything here is unclear, just ask.
Last updated: 10 July 2026. These terms apply to new projects from this date.
1. Who I am
Solid Starr Solutions Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 16531050. Registered office: 71 Omnibus Way, London, E17 4QF. In these terms, "I" and "me" mean Solid Starr Solutions Ltd, and "you" means the person or business buying the work.
2. How we agree the work
Nothing starts by accident. Before any project begins, we agree the package, the price and what's included, in writing (email or WhatsApp is fine). That written quote, together with these terms, is our agreement. If the quote and these terms ever say different things, the quote wins.
The package builder and prices on this website are a starting point, not a checkout. I confirm every quote with you personally before any payment is taken.
3. What's included in a website build
Every website package includes:
- A design built around your business, never a template
- A mobile-first layout that works on every screen
- Fast loading, secure setup, and hosting sorted
- A contact form or contact section
- Basic SEO so Google can find you
- Help with your words and royalty-free images where needed
The number of pages, revision rounds and extras depend on the package you choose, as listed on the packages section at the time of your quote.
Not included unless we agree them separately: online shops and payment systems, booking systems, member areas and portals, custom admin areas or CMS setups, email inboxes, and anything else not listed in your quote. If you ask for something outside your package, I'll always give you a clear price first, and never just do it and bill you.
4. Payment
Every package starts with a 50% deposit, with the balance due at launch, before the site goes live on your domain. For monthly services, payment is due at the start of each month.
The deposit covers the design and build work I do up front. If you cancel after work has started, the deposit is not refundable, but you won't owe the balance. If I fail to deliver what we agreed, you get the deposit back. That's only fair, both ways.
If a balance stays unpaid, the site stays on its preview link until it's settled.
5. Revisions
A revision round is one batch of changes after you see your draft. Reasonable text, image, colour, spacing and small layout changes are all included in a round. Small tweaks like a typo or a photo swap never count as a round.
New pages, new features, or a full change of direction are new work, and I'll quote them separately before doing anything. Extra revision rounds beyond your package are also quoted first.
6. What I need from you
To build your site I need your business details, rough notes or text for each section, and any photos or logos you want used. If you're missing bits, I'll help you pull them together.
You're responsible for making sure anything you give me is accurate and yours to use (for example, photos you have the rights to). I'm not responsible for mistakes in content you approved or materials you supplied.
If a project goes quiet for more than 30 days because I'm waiting on you, I'll pause it and keep your work safe. We pick it back up whenever you're ready.
If your package includes Google Business Profile or review link setup, I'll get the system running properly, but the reviews themselves are yours to manage. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, only genuine reviews from real customers can be published, unedited and not cherry-picked, so that responsibility sits with you once it's live.
7. Timelines
Build times are estimates and run from the day the deposit is paid and I have your content, whichever is later. If content or feedback arrives late, the timeline moves with it. I'll always tell you where things stand, you'll never have to chase.
8. Hosting, domains and third parties
I set your site up on established, reputable hosting providers, with SSL (the padlock), backups and monitoring included. Where possible, your domain name is registered in your name, so it's always yours.
Unless your quote says otherwise, hosting is included free for your first year. After that it's either covered by your care plan, or a small monthly hosting amount agreed with you up front. I'll never surprise-bill you for hosting, and if you'd rather host elsewhere, I'll hand the site over properly.
Hosting, domains, form delivery and similar services are run by third parties. I choose them carefully and set them up properly, but I can't guarantee any third-party service will never have downtime, and I'm not liable for their outages. If something breaks, I'll work to get you back up as a priority.
9. Care plans
Care plans are monthly, from £50/mo, and cover updates, backups, security and small changes as described in your quote. No long contracts: you can cancel any time with one month's notice. If you don't have a care plan, changes after launch are simply quoted as small jobs.
10. Who owns what
Once your balance is paid, the website is yours: the design, the pages and the content we made for it. No lock-in, and if you ever want to move it elsewhere, I'll hand everything over properly.
Fonts, stock photos and similar assets stay under their own licences (they're licensed to be used, not owned by anyone). Anything you supplied stays yours throughout.
I may show finished work in my portfolio and marketing. If you'd rather I didn't show yours, just say, and I won't.
11. What I don't promise
I build sites designed to bring you enquiries, and basic SEO is included so Google can find you. But nobody can honestly guarantee rankings, traffic or sales, and I won't pretend otherwise. Anyone who promises you "page one of Google" is selling smoke.
12. Your data and privacy
Solid Starr Solutions Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration reference ZC177735, and handles personal data in line with UK GDPR.
When you use the contact form on this site, your name, email and message are delivered to my inbox via Formspree, a form service, and I use them only to reply to you. I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site in aggregate; it loads only after you start interacting with the page, and I don't use it to identify you. I never sell your data, and I don't send marketing you haven't asked for.
You can ask me any time what data I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, by emailing hello@solidstarr.co.uk.
If your own website collects customer data, that data belongs to you and you're the controller of it. I'll set the basics up properly and point you at anything you need to do on your side.
13. Liability
I carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. I'm not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and my total liability for any piece of work is capped at the amount you paid me for that work. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited.
14. Ending a project
You can end a project before launch at any time: you pay for the work done up to that point (the deposit usually covers this) and owe nothing more. I can end a project if invoices go unpaid or if the working relationship becomes abusive, and I'll say so clearly rather than disappearing.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are handled by the courts of England and Wales. In practice: if something's wrong, talk to me first, and I'll do my best to put it right quickly.
16. Contact
Questions about any of this? Email hello@solidstarr.co.uk or call +44 7932 771013. I reply the same day.
