A website for your building firm
Building trades came out worst of every trade we measured: 30% have no usable website, and more of them have a broken site than any other trade. That is not a criticism, it is an opportunity, because the customer choosing between three builders is looking all three up. That is what I build, for £240 to set up and £179 a month, everything included.
What a builder’s site needs that a generic one misses
Nobody spends twenty thousand pounds on a recommendation alone. They get the name, then they check whether you look like a business that will still be there in eight months. The site is where that check happens.
Finished work, shot properly
A builder is bought on the last job, not on the words. Photographs of completed work, ideally with a before shot, do more selling than any paragraph. Taken on a phone is fine. Stock images of somebody else's kitchen are not.
Insurance and certifications, stated
Public liability cover, any trade body membership, any certification scheme. A homeowner about to hand over their house keys wants to see that you are insured, and most builder websites simply do not say.
Honest timescales
The single most common complaint about builders is not price, it is being left. Saying plainly how far out you are booking, and what happens if a job overruns, separates you from everybody who avoids the subject.
What you actually take on
Extensions, loft conversions, full refurbishments, or just kitchens and bathrooms. Being specific loses you the wrong enquiries, which is the point. A builder's time is spent quoting jobs they were never going to take.
A site that is still there next year
12.3% of building firms have a website that has simply stopped working, the highest rate of any trade. Yours is hosted, backed up and checked as part of the monthly fee, so it does not quietly break the week a customer looks you up.
The Google listing set up properly
Most homeowners find a builder through Google Maps and reviews. Your Business Profile is part of the job, set up in your name with the right categories and a service area that names the places you really work.
Designs you can click through
There is no builder design in the gallery yet, so rather than show you somebody else's and call it yours, here is the full range. Every one is a complete site built for an invented business, not a real client.
One price, everything in it
£240 to set up, then £179 a month. Three months minimum, then it rolls on month to month and you can stop on 30 days' notice. There is no bigger package and no quote to wait for, it is the same for everyone.
The website
Designed round your business, built from scratch, live within a week of your content coming in.
Hosting and backups
Fast hosting with version backups, so a bad change is never permanent.
Your Google listing
Google Business Profile set up and looked after, in your name.
Your dashboard
See how many people found you and what they clicked, without needing to learn analytics.
Socials set up
Accounts created and matched to the site so it all looks like one business.
Changes, forever
New prices, new hours, new photos. Message me, it gets done.
Based in London and most of my work is here, but the whole job runs over calls and messages, so where you are does not decide whether I can build it. If you are outside London, or outside the UK, get in touch anyway.
Want the branding too? A logo, colours and type that carry across everything is £199 one-off at signing.
Things builders ask me
Do builders actually need a website?
More than most trades, because the amounts are larger and the trust threshold is higher. In our research, building and finishing trades had the worst web presence of any sector at 30% with nothing usable. That is a lot of firms a homeowner cannot check, and the one they can check has an advantage before you have said a word.
I get all my work by recommendation. Is that not enough?
It is a brilliant way to get work, and it is exactly why a site matters. A recommendation now gets checked before anyone rings. When your name gets passed on, the next thing that happens is a search, and what they find decides whether the call ever comes.
I do not have good photos of my work.
Most builders do not, and it is the single biggest fixable weakness. Phone photos are fine if there is enough light and the site is tidy. I will tell you exactly what to shoot on the next job, and if you have nothing at all we build round what you do have and add to it later.
What does a builder’s website cost?
£240 to set it up, then £179 a month. Website, hosting, your Google Business Profile, a dashboard showing who found you, socials set up, and any changes you want, forever. Three months minimum, then it rolls on.
Want one for your business?
A quick call, no pressure and nothing to prepare. Tell me about it and I will tell you straight whether a site is worth it for you.
