Websites for cafes

A website for your cafe

Almost everyone who looks up a cafe wants one of three things: are you open, what have you got, and where exactly are you. A cafe website that answers those three in the first screen has done its job. One that makes somebody hunt for the opening hours has lost them to the place across the road. That is what I build, for £240 to set up and £179 a month, everything included.

The difference

What a cafe’s site needs that a generic one misses

Nobody reads a cafe website. They scan it, usually while walking, usually with one hand. Every decision on the page follows from that.

01

Opening hours, and the same everywhere

Hours at the top of the page, and matching your Google listing exactly. When the two disagree Google trusts neither, and the person who turned up to a closed shutter does not come back a second time.

02

A menu people can actually read

As text on the page, not a PDF and not a photo of a chalkboard. A PDF menu is unreadable on a phone, invisible to search, and impossible for you to change when the supplier price moves.

03

Photos of your actual room

People are deciding whether it is the kind of place they want to sit in. Stock photos of latte art tell them nothing. Photos of your counter, your seats and the food you really serve tell them everything.

04

Where you are, in a way that helps

The nearest station, which side of the road, what it is next to. A pin on a map is not enough when somebody is stood outside looking at a row of shopfronts.

05

Takeaway, bookings, dogs, wifi, plugs

The small questions that decide it. Do you take bookings for six, can they bring the dog, is there wifi, can they sit with a laptop for an hour. Answer them on the page and you stop the messages asking.

06

The Google listing, kept current

For a cafe this matters more than the website. Hours, photos, and the posts that put your specials in front of people searching nearby. Set up in your name and looked after as part of the monthly.

A full cafe design

The Corner Cup is an example design, not a real business. Click through the whole thing, on your phone if you can.

The price

One price, everything in it

£240 to set up, then £179 a month. Three months minimum, then it rolls on month to month and you can stop on 30 days' notice. There is no bigger package and no quote to wait for, it is the same for everyone.

The website

Designed round your business, built from scratch, live within a week of your content coming in.

Hosting and backups

Fast hosting with version backups, so a bad change is never permanent.

Your Google listing

Google Business Profile set up and looked after, in your name.

Your dashboard

See how many people found you and what they clicked, without needing to learn analytics.

Socials set up

Accounts created and matched to the site so it all looks like one business.

Changes, forever

New prices, new hours, new photos. Message me, it gets done.

Based in London and most of my work is here, but the whole job runs over calls and messages, so where you are does not decide whether I can build it. If you are outside London, or outside the UK, get in touch anyway.

Want the branding too? A logo, colours and type that carry across everything is £199 one-off at signing.

Questions

Things cafes ask me

My cafe is busy already. Why would I need a website?

Being busy with regulars and being findable by the person who moved in last week are different problems. The site and the Google listing are for the second group, and they are the ones who become regulars.

Can I put the menu up as a PDF?

You can, but do not. A PDF is unreadable on a phone, search engines largely ignore what is inside it, and you have to redo the whole thing to change one price. As text on the page it is readable, findable and I can change a price in a minute.

Who updates the opening hours over Christmas?

I do, and it is included. Message me the dates and they change on the site and on your Google listing together, which is the part people forget and the part that matters.

What does a cafe website cost?

£240 to set it up, then £179 a month, everything in. Three months minimum, then month to month. The £179 covers the hosting, the Google listing, your dashboard, your socials set up and any changes you want.
