Websites for restaurants

A website for your restaurant

A restaurant website gets opened for one reason nine times out of ten: somebody wants the menu. If the menu is a PDF that will not load on a phone, you have lost them, and they were deciding where to eat tonight. So the menu comes first, as readable text, with booking and opening hours right behind it. That is what I build, for £240 to set up and £179 a month, everything included.

The difference

What a restaurant’s site needs that a generic one misses

The decision is being made now, usually by a group, usually on a phone, often while somebody else suggests a different place. Speed and clarity beat everything else.

01

The menu, as text, first

Not a PDF and not a photo. A PDF menu is the single most common mistake a restaurant site makes: unreadable on a phone, invisible to search, and impossible to change when a price moves. Text on the page fixes all three.

02

Booking that goes somewhere real

Whether that is OpenTable, a form that lands in your inbox, or a phone number, it is one tap and it is obvious. A booking button that opens an email client is a booking you did not get.

03

Photos of the food you actually serve

Your dishes, your room, your plates. People are deciding whether it looks like somewhere they want to spend an evening, and stock photography reads as exactly what it is.

04

Hours, including when the kitchen closes

The bar being open until midnight and the kitchen stopping at nine are different facts, and only one of them ruins somebody’s night. Both go on the page.

05

The delivery question, answered

Whether you are on Deliveroo or Uber Eats, do your own delivery, or are eat-in only. People check this before they travel, and the ones who cannot find out assume the answer is no.

06

The Google listing and your reviews

For a restaurant this is where most of the deciding happens. Your Business Profile set up in your name with the menu attached, correct hours, and photos, so the reviews you earn work as hard as they can.

The price

One price, everything in it

£240 to set up, then £179 a month. Three months minimum, then it rolls on month to month and you can stop on 30 days' notice. There is no bigger package and no quote to wait for, it is the same for everyone.

The website

Designed round your business, built from scratch, live within a week of your content coming in.

Hosting and backups

Fast hosting with version backups, so a bad change is never permanent.

Your Google listing

Google Business Profile set up and looked after, in your name.

Your dashboard

See how many people found you and what they clicked, without needing to learn analytics.

Socials set up

Accounts created and matched to the site so it all looks like one business.

Changes, forever

New prices, new hours, new photos. Message me, it gets done.

Based in London and most of my work is here, but the whole job runs over calls and messages, so where you are does not decide whether I can build it. If you are outside London, or outside the UK, get in touch anyway.

Want the branding too? A logo, colours and type that carry across everything is £199 one-off at signing.

Questions

Things restaurants ask me

We are on Deliveroo and Instagram. Do we need a site?

Those are rented. Deliveroo takes a cut of every order and owns the customer, and Instagram cannot be searched by somebody looking for dinner near them tonight. Your own site is the one place a booking costs you nothing and the customer is yours.

Can we take bookings through the site?

Yes. If you use OpenTable or similar the site links straight into it. If you take bookings by phone or by email, the form lands in your inbox with the date, the number of people and a contact, which is everything you need to confirm it.

Who changes the menu when prices go up?

I do, and it is in the monthly. Send me the new prices and they are live the same day. This is exactly why the menu is text on the page and not a PDF you would have to redesign.

What does a restaurant website cost?

£240 to set it up, then £179 a month. Website, hosting, your Google Business Profile with the menu on it, a dashboard, socials set up, and menu and hours changes whenever you need them. Three months minimum, then month to month.

Want one for your business?

A quick call, no pressure and nothing to prepare. Tell me about it and I will tell you straight whether a site is worth it for you.
